Are there like, set rules which govern streetfighters?
I know flat black is popular and beat-up looking maybe.. (i dont like that idea much), maybe less plastic, upturned tail etc... But is there an actual rule-book or known agenda by which they follow!? :o
I wish they were more popular here in the states, because well, maybe i want a GS-Streetfighter-Stuntbike.. yeah, maybe i do.. :)
I think that flat black pic in the WOF, with no front fender and plastics looks hott!! looks slimmer and more sporty ina weird way..
Any suggestions/comments/Flames/Laughs/Spite?
Thanks in advance :nana:
here's a great streetfighter:

Started life as a Hayabusa. Check out more photos at www.twobros.com [in customer service>project bikes].
Streetfighters started out as crashed sportbikes but the latest craze is totally pimped out, chromed out, polished out nakeds. Follow the Tuono route to streetfighters-handlebars instead of clip ons, naked, lots of power.
The upturned tail is a common trait. Driving lights for headlights, preferably very small. dual headlights often come up, high mount exhaust, no fenders, crazy paint.
this one is nice
picture size still within limits?

This is also something like fighter ;) and still GS:

that project bike is coming along nicely Teonis. When are you fabricating the real thing?

Teonis, What prog. did you use to design that bike?
As far as general guidelines for "streetfighters" go, technically the only one there is is "function before form". That is, remove any extraneous equipment, be it bodywork, paint, etc. The black paint scheme that's common is usually just to prevent corrosion, as opposed to aesthetic reasons. It's true that most streetfighters start out as crashed sportbikes, this is usually all the encouragement one needs to dump all the plastic entirely.
Fighters can really be compared to american choppers. While choppers evolved mostly from american cruisers, streetfighters' heritage belongs in euro and asian cafe racers. Both breeds share the same philosophy of bare-bones, steroid-pumped bikes.
I think the bit of weight that the fairings add would be outweighed by the difference in drag resistance and the ducting it does for air into the airbox making more power!
The riding is mostly at low speeds... so makes no diff if fairing or ram air... those longer and faster stunts are usually on 1 wheel so again fairing dont do much neither does ram air.
Cool.
