I am getting ready to tow my bike this spring and am planning on bringing in the bed of my truck since i will have a motorcycle trailer with other bikes on it so the only option is the bed of the truck.
I was wondering from people that tow their bike in the back of their truck do you use a wheel chock or is it really not necessary.
Also if you do use a wheel chock do you actually bolt it to the bed of the truck or do you fasten it some other way?
And lastly if you do use a wheel chock do you have one of the ones that lock on to the wheel as you roll the bike in or just one of the simple designs that are made of round bar?

I put my bike in the back all the time with 2 straps tight. Unless you drive like a mad man this is all that is necessary!

I angled the bike slightly after loading and was able to close the tailgate even in this little 96 Ford Ranger.
Ive hauled bikes over 2,000 miles with just two straps up front :thumb: But, if it makes you feel better, more cant hurt :cheers:

they can if your not paying attentino, a kid in my class had a bunch of straps on his bike and as he tightening one down, it pulled the whole bike over in the bed of the truck and smash, and since up front he used a strap that went throught the triangular holes by the stem, the bike was pinned down and he couldnt loosen any of the straps he had previoulsy put on because the shift in the bike had tightened them all beyond what he could release. so what did retard face do? had to cut his straps hahha
I use a "bed buddy". That's its name. Works really good.

Without it, the front of my truck bed used to flex pretty bad when the bike was strapped down. It's all good now.

ditto, no chock is fine. One bolted to the bed is a sweet thing to have, but not necessary.
