Does anyone have a picture of what theirs looks like?
This is exactly what mine looks like, but white. No it's not stock, mine came busted (from a crash) but I bought one of these guys and it works fine. Was around 10 bucks if I remember from AutoZone.

the last a$$hole that owned it threw out the relay and replaced it with some self cancelling crap, giving me an abundance of wiring issues from day one. now, the light blue and orange wire that are made to go into the relay have butt connectors on them. go figure.
i was about to ask where to get one..

I have the same one , clear electronic relay, like $7. They have 3 or so kinds at autozone. I just went in, left a $10 spot and they let me try all of them, one at a time, to see which one worked, problem solved
Its a wagner 558 if I recall. Buy one that has the same pins as yours - 2 at right angles and you're good.
They are all electronic and use circuitry to time the flashing, not current draw and heat like bimetal ones that were stock. There is even one that is a transparent one so you can see some electronics. Yea cool, I need to see my electronics.

Ah ok. Gotcha. Thing is, basterds put bullet connectors on the wires. Ugh! Time to cut em off and redo.

Found one guys. I installed and..the right hand blinker works as it should, the left hand...it blinks only when the button is held down. ARGH! This is the worst wiring issue I have run across in a while.

Sounds like a problem in the switch itself, not making proper contact.
That's what the head mechanic at work said. I'm his apprentice. Lol. Anyway, he thinks someone messed with something in the switch. I may get a new one on flea bay.
Like dgyver said, it sounds like the problem is in the switch. The lever on the outside returns to center with a spring, but inside the switch housing the switch stays over to one side, until you press the lever which forces the switch back to center. Sounds like the internal part is not staying all the way over.
Ah of course. Tis my issue. I got another switch comin, I took the old one apart and a bunch of plastic shavings and a broken spring fell out..
does the flasher relay control the speed at which the signals flash as well? mine are too fast now that i'm using flush mounts on the front and led's in the back.
Hmm. I believe so, Kyle, but it may be a question better suited for the wiring pros.
Flashing speed depends on the load. Changing lights with different bulbs and especially leds, will have a different load (reduced load) and cause them to flash faster. This also happens when, with a stock system, burns out a bulb. There are ways to trick the relay with resistors to flash at normall rate (increase load), I do not recall which one is required. I use an electronic flasher (found at auto parts stores) that can accomdate varing loads and not change its flashing rate.
I bought mine from an auto store as well, it was like 2 bucks, the Suzuki OEM Is like 25. Haha
