Title: Spring from the left hand switch assembly
Post by: arnel on February 06, 2010, 05:12:04 PM
Hi, I was in the process of re-routing my choke cable because I added a handlebar riser.  When I disassembled the switch assembly where the choke lever is located, a spring fell out.  I can't figure out where it came from and what it is for.  Does anyone know where this spring belong?  I appreciate anyone's help.  Thanks.

hmm...im almost positive theres no spring in the choke switch. perhaps from the turn signal since that springs back on its own. thats the only thing i can think of in that area that is spring loaded

Hi,

I think it's no.7 in the schematic:

I remember about that spring from when I dissasembled my left side switch. I think it presses out on the tab (no. 8 ) holding the cable sleeve in place (probably to make it easier to remove).

i think it holds tension on the choke lever to keep it from coming off accidentily

Thanks guys.  The drawing really helped out.  Now I know that I am missing item 6, Spacer.  Thanks again. :)
