Copy the "IMG" line under the picture in Photobucket, not the URL.  That will display pictures and make sure people actually look at what you are showing.

Um. Did you just paint right on over the top of the decals on the tank without removing them? If so, you just painted right on top of the clearcoat too.

What kind of prep work did you do before painting?

Now all you need is a white helmet. Then ride around in dark blue pants with light blue shirt so everyone thinks you're a copper.

I would have traded you my white rims! Sick to death of them. In fact, I want to find a way to put spokes on my GS.

If you painted over the decals, then you DID paint over them. Even if Only on the tank. So now you have a tank, with decals on it, but which have been painted over. So the decal outline can still be seen, but maybe not what's on them. And unless you sanded them to, then paint will also come off of them.

I doubt your tank didn't have clear coat. ALL tanks do. It's just not highly visible to the naked untrained eye. Some bike makers put the decals on and then clear coat over them. Not Suzuki, however. They actually put their decals on by hand, after the clear coat has been applied.

So after painting your fairings you have decided you don't like fairings? Could have saved a bit of paint and not painted them to start with.

What is it about the fairings that you don't like? Most fairings are quite similar so I'm not sure what you really want. Or even Why you don't like them.

If you are happy, that is all that matters.  A lot of us are going to disagree with what you did cause we wouldn't do it.  I, being one of them, would not do it.  But hell, you are having fun and being creative.  More than likely you will be encountering some "repainting" in the future, lol.  Then you can paint the whole thing lime green!!!  :2guns:

Have you see any fairings that do not do this?

For mine, they pretty much all do the same thing. So I think you might be shaZam! out of luck with getting a fairing to not do it.  :dunno_white:

It's his bike, he can F it up all he wants     Seriously though, as long as you are happy with the results, that is all that counts.  I'd rather see something somebody did themselves than a high dollar job done by someone else.
