Title: WTB starter safety switch on left handlebar
Post by: johnny ro on February 28, 2010, 08:39:22 AM
I snapped a connector off while installing brush guards. The switch is built into the clutch lever mount.

I bought a lever mount with switch off ebay. Looked good in picture. Lets see.

Other than this its now ready for spring.  Plus new pegs when they get here.

Since I parked it in Nov, put on new chain, sprockets, rear Kat shock, front 90 sonics with 15 wt oil, Buddha jet kit with clean and synch, valve adjust, dubble bubble touring screen and handguards and Ky-jellied all electronic connectors. Remove oil pan and cleaned it too. Was curious about the il pan, couldnt resist taking it apart.

After this, ride it one season and look for nice V-strom 650.

you shoulda used vasaline, or electrical compound for that.  ky jelly is water based, which means that water will brake it up and it will all disappear

Dielectric grease is a great one as its conductive.  Vaseline is cool cause its impervious to water (and electricity) but connectors will push it out of the way allowing for good conductivity.  KY bad, lol.

solder the leads together. makes field repair of a busted clutch lever MUCH easier. Take my word on it.
