It's been three months, I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!! I MUST RIDE BEFORE I GO INSANE... :cookoo:
I understand..it's effin cold here in GA as well..after I wrap up the winter project on the bike I'll be riding soon though.. Don't go nuts..Just wait it out a little longer.
We have had a terrible February here in Oklahoma. Normal temps are 50-55 for the high and we almost always have sun in a normal year. This month has been almost all cloudy and 10-15 degrees below normal all month.
Yesterday was a glorious day, finally! I rode for about the fourth time this month. Got the wife on back of the GS1100 and made about a 100-mile ride. Had to watch for salt and sand on roads in town, but it was a great ride once we got to the boonies. I also rode the GS500 a bit, but I have a fairing on the 1100 and it's a little warmer on long rides.
Today's the first day of March, so I'm getting pretty tense as well. I remounted my new tires yesterday and hooked up my new fuel lines, so I've just got some random junk to do too, and I'll be back on the road for the first time in about 3 years!
I finally got out on the interstate at the end of last week. My sis in NC says spring has arrived there, and up here in DC the bradfords are forming buds and the songbirds are back. You will be out on your scoot in no time.
Now, if you will excuse me, I am going to go ride to work
I wouldn't say we're having a record winter snowfall-wise or low temperature-wise, but except for two days in January it's been consistently cold. It's been cold for the past 7 weeks!
The worst part is I'm looking ahead, and the way this winter is going it could be another 7 weeks before I can ride.. :icon_sad:
What is amazing me is that we have had one of the worst winters here in Florida since I've been here in 92. We have consistently 20-25 degrees below normal here. Just this Saturday we had a low of 38 with a windchill of 27. Today it was 72 for the high and tomorrow I think 55 and rain then back to cold until Saturday!
I've managed to get pneumonia out of this wonderful weather. It is supposed to be nice this weekend but I'll be in Boston yay me!

What I wouldn't do for a low of 38. We're supposed to have a high of 40 on Saturday and Sunday which I'm excited about. Hopefully a bit of this snow will melt, and hopefully it won't cause too much damage sliding off of my roof. My backed up gutter left some water leaking through the roof in one spot, a giant chunk of ice falling off knocked my front door overhang crooked, and another knocked my neighbors window overhang clean off.

I (was) feeling your pain. Two weeks ago, my overloaded roof started melting onto my heat pump, then re-freezing each night. coated the blades with about 1/8" of ice... until one side threw the ice, knocking it out of balance. If I hadn't been home to hear the thing shaking itself to death, I'm certain it would have destroyed itself.
Yesterday we cracked 50 for the first time this year. I will be riding from this point forward on any morning above 32. Still too many plow piles draining into the streets to take any chances when it is colder.
Well, I finally got to ride last week and this week, but IT'S STILL COLD! I'll have a couple more days this week to ride before it turns really cold and gets sloppy again next week.
At least I got to scratch the itch!
Amen to it being cold down South, so much so that we've had systems bringing our weather from the South and IT'S STILL COLD! Normally when we get southerly winds it's always warm.. not this year!
