okay, so this thing is now officially eating away at my life. The bike will start(very sluggish till it warms up), and run, will accel ect. The problem is that when I'm coming to a stop, and I pull in the clutch at the light, the engine rpms drop too low and it dies. If I blip the gas it stays alive though(have to keep blipping it too). What I'm thinking it might be is there is a partial blockage of the fuel line or fuel filter or both. When I switched the petcock to res it seemed to run a bit better, not drop as much when stopping(with clutch in), and wouldn't die as often. My theory is that there is something stuck in the fuel lines(or filter) making it so that there is not 100% flow to the carbs, so when i twist the throttle it still accels, but when i let off of it it cuts back to the fuel it would need to idle, but since there is a partial blockage the carbs don't fill up enough fast enough and it dies. The carbs were rejeted and cleaned less than 2000 miles ago, the air filter is clean, and the spark plugs and oil were just replaced. So, I guess what I'm asking is, would changing out all the fuel lines maybe fix the prob, or something else?

replacing the fuel lines is cheap enough that even if it dont fix it, it wouldn't be that big a deal. what year is you bike? try setting the petcock to prime and see if it does any better there. what does your bike idle at? with the choke off and motor fully warmed up it should be set at 1200 rpm if its lower, adjust idle screw to 1200rpm
it's a 07, and idle is set at 12-13ish warmed up no choke, how much would it cost to re-hose the bike anyways? I'll try the pri setting

Mine had that problem too, how's the battery. You should get that tested also.
stick a ballpoint pen where the filter should be, and see if it solves it. easy diagnosis.
if it doesn't help, replace the lines one at a time.
alll lines would cost $10 or so @ autozone for fuel lines.
okay, why would battery cause prob(not that I don't think it's a good idea i just never thought about it). And where should i put that ball point pen?

I had that problem too. I replaced the fuel lines and removed and cleaned the fuel cap (there is a guide to that somewhere in the wiki). I never had the problem since.
Fuel line will set you back $4 + shipping from CRC2.
Check your float height, and drain the carb bowls - you may have accumulated water sloshing in the bottom of the bowls, or you may have the level set wrong - easy to check with a bit of 1/8" clear fuel line.

okay, so i leaned up the mix alot, and it seems to be doing a bit better, also could it be the plugs aren't hot enough, cause the ones i pulled were black and i replaced them with stock ones again, if thats the case it should get a bit better as the weather warms up(I live in vegas, it will be 80F by next week ish).
