Title: Need some help..
Post by: Dretzl on March 02, 2010, 10:53:38 AM
I have a 93 gs500 and lately, it's not been running so well.  It starts fine and runs ok, up until about 5k rps.  Once it gets above 5k it starts to sputter some.  After it starts to sputter, if engage the clutch and let off the gas, the engine will die.  It kinda feels weak on take off too lately.   I was hoping you all could give me some ideas about what could cause this.  Thanks in advance!

Hi,might be worth checking carb diaphrams for a hole up against a light, never had one go on my Gs but it feels like fuel starvation, can check without removing carbs. If no joy there inspect carbs further.

Dirty carbs or a big OR Bad (-) battery connection mine did something similar quite some time back, the negative battery terminal had vibrated loose i used my handy dandy tool kit located above the rear mud flap and she ran great.
