I'm not a hard rider I usually change gears around 4 - 5k rpm's but lately when I press the clutch it shoots up to around 6k and slowly climes down and when I put it in nuetral it seems to get lower as the bike slows down! Check fitting tightness between the cylinders and carbs and the carbs and airbox.  I had the same problem and simply hadn't tightened down the hose clamps enough.

Peace,
Syzygy
