I'd like to buy this; I really like the '98 paiint scheme and colors, but you're 3K miles away, and I'm close to broke right now...

Good luck with the sale; I doubt you'll get anything close to your asking price, but you never know...

Being near Western Mass, but already being equipped with a bike (don't need two, much less three), I think the price is reasonable (much newer, far less miles, and nicer than the one I spent $1000 for two years ago), but your odds of getting it sold would improve more than slightly if you went ahead and replaced the fork seals, and spent $6.00 plus a few hours repainting the black parts of the pipe (remove it from the bike and mask off the stainless) with barbecue black spray paint. Otherwise it's a nice bike that looks good and in good shape. Your Spring Motorcycle Buyer is more easily swayed by "needs nothing done" than you might expect, very often. If you can be patient, I'd be surprised if it was still around at the end of April. Weather is already turning good for getting it sold.

You're probably right on both counts.  But I can tell you for sure, I'm not going to paint the exhaust.  I've been seriously considering keeping the GS for a track bike and maybe an occasional around-town bike.  If I take the time to do the fork seals, I'll probably convince myself to just keep the bike :)

A couple more nice weeks, might be enough to convince someone on the fence though.
