Title: Breather hose size
Post by: Clancy on March 11, 2010, 01:07:22 AM
Hi guys
Was just wondering what size the breather hose from the engine case is in mm? Am putting in a lunchbox and want to put in a breather filter too.
Cheers from down under.

According to parts fiche it's "HOSE,11X15X600"

http://fiche.ronayers.com/Index.cfm/Module/Main/TypeID/26/Type/Motorcycle/MakeID/2/Make/Suzuki/YearID/43/Year/2002/ModelID/6502/Model/GS500/GroupID/272362/Group/AIR_CLEANER

Can check bolt sizes that way too in many cases.

thanks GsJack
Would you presume that 11X15X600 means internal diameter, external diameter and length in mm in that order?

You've also gotta keep in mind the filter you're putting on the other end. The hose that was(still is) on my bike from when I bought it is way bigger than it needs to be, and it's just been hose clamped down to fit. It's bigger because the filter on the other end is bigger than where the hose connects to the engine. I'm sure if the guy had put in the work he could've found a smaller filter so he could've used the right hose, but either way it works.

If no one's answered this by this weekend, I'll measure it when I pull my tank off in a day or two.
