i lost the right side and back middle piece coming home on the interstate last night. scarry part is that the pieces hit my housemate in the head since she was following me. it scratched some pretty nice gouges in the visor then shattered. she said it was like a video game. she and i were both thankful that she didn't over-react to it. that could have been a disaster.
i was really tempted to bid on the body work on e-bay, but i'm going to let it slide until the time comes when and if i ever decide to sell my bike. now my flat black tank and front fender make my bike look like the one on the WOF, just more dirty. :)
Well that sucks
I have a right side spare... Lemme see how good it is. No center piece... though...
Cool.
Srinath.
thinking about thin sheetmetal replacments. samn basic lines, just all angles, no curve.

thank you very much. i appreciate that. i plan on painting any new ones to flat black, so color is no big deal. how much would you want for it?
oh, and i'm wondering how to keep that from happening again...aside from slowing down! i do know that the frame is missing one of the washer plugs on that side that the panel pushes into. it did seem a bit more unstable than the left side that has all the rubber washers. i think i'll call suzuki monday and see what they sell the little rubber piece for. and it looks like it was a good thing i was missing a screw that held the middle piece to the left side or it might have taken flight too. *shrug* who knows? ...
tie wraps, zip ties, they work wonders
how does you rear bodywork just fall off when it is supposed to be bolted together?
does not compute....
I'll find it and send you a pic.... But if its good how's $20, and is a tab etc is broken off how's $10.
Cool.
Srinath.
If Srinath doesn't have what you need, I have a complete set of rear bodywork off my '93 that you can have for $40 + shipping. It's in good shape with no cracks or missing tabs.
I dont have that center piece in a spare mismatch... I do have steve (qwkdtsun) yellow set... but all the pieces match so I dont want to separate... yours may be a better bet for Brandiwine anyway...
Cool.
Srinath.
How the hell did it just fall off???
If I recall it is attached by two rubber connection points on the frame and the side panel just plugs into these rubber connections and it is screwed to the small center section and the seat fits over the edge of the side panel and the rear grab handle kind of fits around it also and somewhere your leg should of been able to hold it in place while you were riding the bike.
If you were able to have the side panel just fall off you should check everthing else on the bike to see it it is all attached so the bike does not just fall apart on the road.

i was missing a screw that connected the left piece to the back center piece, so that might be why it stayed on. as for it flying off in the first place....beats me why and how it happened. i was doing a bit over 90mph, so that might have contributed to it. *shrug*
i went back in my car yesterday and found the pieces on the shoulder. the center piece is is perfect shape but the side piece is pretty smashed.
thanks for the offers on body work. i think i'm going to just leave them off completely for now and worry about it later on. i've got a new tank i need to get cleaned up first. thanks agian...
