Aaaah ! thanks - I saw a news item and I wondered if it was some sort of custom or special meaning thing.
Almost every important bill is signed that way, so that more than one person can say "I have a pen used to sign the ______ Bill."
Tax dollars at work. ahh well its a custom. wonder if any bill flops or=is deemed a craptastic failure, what happens to the souvenir pens? do their owners keep em or hock em on ebay?. would be interresting to obtain one though. ive got one pen my grandfather got from the white house decades ago. as a favour/gift from some cabinet person. i use it, BUT it stays in my secretary. ( desk)
I just have to say i'm f%$king sick and tired of my government passing bills "because America needs it". like we f%$king "needed" the bank bailout. and the auto bailout. i think they've forgotten who they work for. it's their job to work on legislation that americans want.
Before any of you think i'm against healtcare reform, i'll say this: i know the system is broken. it needs fixed. but was THIS BILL the best they could do? and f%$king pelosi "it will be passed before we know everything that's in it". now, if i sign a legal document, i'm not allowed to back out of it later with the excuse that i didn't read the whole damn thing so what makes our government so f%$king special? if it's too long to read before you vote on it, SLIM THE f%$king THING DOWN!!! stop filling every f%$king bill with "sweetheart deals" and endless pages of legal speak.

wrong, the pens are not displayed proudly in that crackers office. they're:
1 examined for authenticity
2 labeled with lasers in special code only known to the nsa
3 packed
4 shipped
5 delivered via special uniformed service personnel to and underground bunker (which you pay for)
6 1-3 again, this time with really, really slow hands
7 you (taxpayer) gets the bill, in the form of "OH MY GOD WE CANT AFFORD THAT REALLY COOL THING WEVE BEEN DOING FOR 30 YEARS ANYMORE !! WE NEED TO PASS ANOTHER COMPLETELY f%$king STUPID LAW TO SAP MORE MONEY FROM YOUR MEASELY PAYCHECKS !!!"
