Title: WTB: Aftermarket Seat 89-00
Post by: jwjulian on March 31, 2010, 02:08:42 PM
I'm going to be doing a considerable amount of long distance riding soon and I definitely need something other than the stock seat.
Not too sure what kind of aftermarket options are available, or if there is some way to make my seat more comfortable.
Shoot me a PM or respond in this thread if you've got anything.
Thanks!

only thing to suggest would be some corbin seats

Could also take off the leather and put gel pads in under the seat and then reattach the leather or if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself find a local uphosteler and they will be able to do it.  No clue on what the cost would be but i would assume less than a corbin seat.

Not much to putting the vinyl back, you just have to get the right sized staples, I'm take a shot in the dark and suggest maybe 3/8"? Where can you get the gelpads from?

when I cover motorcycle seats, I use 1/4" staples in my electric stapler.  works fine.  I also use marine grade vinyl from hancock fabrics.  here is a link.

I just get it from my local store.
1 yard is plenty, with leftovers
