Title: New oil cooler mod?
Post by: rcepluch on October 19, 2003, 05:55:18 PM
Does anyone know if the new oil coolers on the 2004 models will be able to be retrofitted to the older bikes without serious modification?

Thanks.

I do not believe anyone has had a chance to look at the new oil cooler, up close yet.
Are you overheating or thinking of getting a full fairing?

The new Gs will be at the International Motorcycle Shows.
I'll be checking it out closely.
The show is in San Mateo Nov.7-9.
You can check out www.motorcycleshows.com
Knowing the way Suzuki does things, I'm sure it will fit the older bikes. But the parts will be pricy.

No I am not overheating and I am not considering a full fairing.  My 2002 gs500 is running great and I love it!  I would just like to do anything to keep it that way for years to come!  Thanks.
Title: Oil cooler...

People already have fitted oil coolers to their bikes.
The cover has 2 indentations... one of those for out and the other for back in. The trick is to not cause starvation... and a remote spin on filter. I guess it can be done with a check valve of some sort.
Lee from sacramento (used to race at willow springs) had it done on his race bike.
Cool.
