Title: Whats a standard idleing temperature.
Post by: gregvhen on April 05, 2010, 08:52:54 AM
I feel like my bike is over heating, but im not sure.  I have access to a laser thermometer so i would like to check various parts of the engine to see if its hotter than it should be.  after riding my bike around for about 10 mineutes and coming back home and leaving on and idleing, about how hot should:

1. the exhaust pipes be right at the headers. like right above the horizantal bar connecting the two headers?

2. if I aim the laser on the side of each cylinder in the middle of the fins?

3. any suggestions as to another place i should test?
