The poll chices make no sence.

But the most noticeable and most cost effective mod is a smaller front sprocket. try a 15t very noticeable and only $20. also very easy/quick to install.

next would be timing advance, free and easy, noticable.

then comes intake/exhaust/rejet, they must be done at the same time otherwise you will have to rejet more than once. very noticable but very expensive and time consuming.

to go faster you must first be able to turn at higher speeds unless you only want to go faster in a straight line then well you bought the wrong bike.

There's really not a whole lot you can do to the GS to make it faster, honestly. A smaller front sprocket will give you more acceleration.

Intake, exhaust and rejet nets like 2hp if I recall correctly. I would just enjoy riding it and get some experience.

The only thing you could do to make it faster would be to put a turbocharger on it.

How to make GS faster without a senseless poll question:

Remove key ring from GS500 key.

Attach key ring to GSXR/CBR/FZ/SV etc. key.

Go ride.

The problem with trying to make an air-cooled parallel twin motor that only displaces 487cc faster is that you can buy something faster for less than it costs to make what you have go faster.

With the GS500, it's best to focus on improvements that will help in areas other than straight-line performance.

WHERE do you want to go faster?

So I go for a 400+km ride today with a guy I Used to work with. He rides an older Kawasaki ZX10 and has never ridden with me before. BUT, he can't keep up with me in the twisties. He even said "your bike corners better than mine".

Granted, it could certainly be him and not his bike. Point is though, the GS can easily break the highest of speed limits. I guarantee it can go fast enough to throw you off in the twisties. So it's plenty fast.

So WHERE do you want it to be faster? Track? Straight line drags? Off the line (you'll lose top speed but have faster acceleration)?

If you're not happy with its performance so much, get rid of it and get a 600+ something. SV650, Vstrom, GSR600, Gixxer, Gladius.
