So.. I bought myself a second gs500e. A 1992 model which has a new engine and overall super condition. Got a great deal because the guy selling had the fuel hose connected to the wrong T intersection on the carbs. I got it running one day (ran really smoothly minus the having to throttle a bit too much), but it would only idle at 4000 rpms and seemed to have problems with the carburetors. So I took them apart, they were clean and seemed to look good (though I mainly used youtube as my method of fixing). My friend put them back together. after I spent a few days stripping and repainting I put it all back together and now.. Nothing....not even with starter fluid. I need someone that actually knows what they are doing or new carbs... Does anyone want to make a few bucks tinkering? Or have carbs that I could just plop on? I have beer to go along with the help if its local (in Charlotte NC).

if it wont stasrt with starting fluid, then its not getting any fire to the plugs, make sure the coils are hooked up, then try replacing the plugs. cheap and simple advance auto carries them in-stock
I Changed the spark plugs, but Ill make sure they are firing when I get home. Thats one thing that I haven't eliminated yet. Thanks for the advice.
