The battery on bike is one year old,the acid level is adequate .when I charge with battery with battery tender or from 100m long rides..(the charging voltage is 13.5v on idle)
the battery reads around 12.6 volts in the night but by morning the voltage drops to 12.2v-12v..when I try to crank up the engine in morning (with no choke)it fires up and dies in few sec...I usually have to do a rolling start or after few rolling attempts it cranks up from battery
there is no vacuum leak...temp here is usually 70 and fuel starvation creeps up past 85
Is this normal voltage for a good battery , if not how long would it take to lose charge
link has pic for the inline fuel filter I have installed are they in right direction

and I need creative ideas to dissemble the voltmeter in pic and make a waterproof housing/casing to make it a permanent gauge on bike

You might want to rethink this?

Nominal charging voltage is 13.5v .. it sounds like you are good there. A charged battery should be right around 12.5v .. if you are losing a half a volt over night this *may* be a sign that your battery is on its way out. If you are anywhere near an Interstate Battery retailer they should have a good battery tester. The one at my work tests Cold Cranking Amps / Cranking Amps to determine the condition of a battery. Can't really help you with your other issues.. sorry.
Suzuki Stevo is the socket connected directly to battery..
I tried 12v cigarette socket but it wasn't waterproof as claimed was collecting water and shorting the electrical system on my 89 'GS
guess i need to invest on better 12v socket

It's supposed to be?? <(a good socket) my GS never sees the rain though. Yeah direct to the battery, I plug my Battery Tender into that socket.

Duh - why would you be cranking it in the morning
with no choke? Put choke on, it catches and runs - don't put choke on, it dies - battery has fsck-all to do with that part of it. 70-80F is not "warm" to a motor that runs above boiling in normal operation. Use the choke, as Suzuki intended...
You seem to be missing what Suzuki Stevo is pointing out - that your voltmeter with its pretty lights is probably what's drawing your battery down overnight. Or not - it may just be crapping out. Try removing it. No, I guess that's his setup and yours is not installed yet? Anyway if you have an alarm or any other drain that's "on" when the bike is off, remove it and see what happens. Else, buy a new battery, it may be that time.
12.7 Volts is fully charged

I will test tonight disconnecting negative terminal of the battery to check if anything is shorting the elctrical system
the battery on my car stays at 12.8 even after a week, the one on my gs, is 12.4 after a few days
has anyone tried jump starting with PORT-A-JUMP ....is it safe for bike's electrical system

Bike's electrical system is not all that fussy. I have no special experience with a port-a-jump, but if it's the usual undersized 12V gel cell in an overpriced plastic package, it should be fine. I either goose my bike with a battery charger (if handy) or jump it from a car battery (got pretty bad last fall - bought a new battery this spring).
i generally dont like jumpstarting the bike. if i turn the key and there's any power at all i push start it.
give yourself some space, turn on the ignition, pull the choke, pop it up into 2nd gear and let go of the clutch once youre in a bit of a roll. not sure if this helps you at all but it's what i do when there's power but my bike wont start. lucky for me, last time the battery was just dead so i got a new one =P
last night removed the negative terminal from battery(12.2v) and checked up the voltage in morning ,it remained constant .will test again tonight with full charge 12.6v.
If there is a short or something is draining the battery ,where do I start looking /checking up electrical system
