Title: dropped bike - difficult to start
Post by: homeyjosey on May 02, 2010, 07:57:23 PM
Hey everyone, my bike was dropped when moving the bike in neutral a while ago and since then the bike has a difficult time starting especially in the cold (southern cal cold about 60*...before it didnt have a problem)  Also, when it was first dropped i left it alone for a whole day and started it and the exhaust was white...if that helps

Whats wrong with my bike?

oh and previous owner said the jets were changed to make fuel mixture richer

How long was the bike laying down for?  How much have you had it running since you dropped it?  "White Exhaust?" smoke?  Like it was burning some oil?  Have you switched your petcock to prime, to prime the float bowls? Is anything noticeably bent?

I don't see where dropping a bike for ~30 seconds would cause any problems... Maybe it's just a coincidence..  maybe it knocked a vacuum hose loose or something?

my bike has been down more than a few times without any mechanical damage, something may have been knocked loose.  check around the fuel petcock  and check your choke cable too
