Well i work at a auto customs shop we do cars only but one of our distributors had a autopage MA-210 alarm system 2 way LCD for motorcycles. There have been a good amount of bike thefts so i decided to get one. Wish me luck never attempted it on a bike but ill let you know how it goes. =D
I have an autopage system on my car, it works great. the remote has the capability to control an alarm on my bike too (if I installed one.) but you probably already knew that! :thumb:
yea i kinda just wish for the ability to remote start it so i can let it warm up while i get dressed in the morning. =D
got it all hooked up but having problems with the alarm system not sure what i did wrong but ill have to mess with it more later when the experts come in. All i know is the panic button works... Ow...
Well its all working and works great i recommend it to anyone who wants an affordable alarm and a cut in their insurance hehe. Ive seen it online for $90 its pretty strait forward to install if you have a multimeter.
I read in a CBR forum
"The alarm will drain the bike's battery after sitting in the disarmed mode for about 2 weeks. When left in armed mode, the alarm will go into power save mode after 12 hours. In the power save mode, the alarm will drain the bike's battery in about a week."
Is this true, did you encounter this or whats the work around

can't imagine you'd leave your bike out for a week where you'd need the alarm.
and also if you ride the bike not often the bike shouldnt be left out side un moved for two weeks. once riding season is over disconnect the battery and all should be fine.

i don't see the point of an alarm really. just makes noise and no one pays any attention. puts stress on the battery, and heck, insurance man. :)
the worst i've seen for a gs is knocked over, or my cover pulled off. as soon as the would be theives realized it was just a gs, they moved on. ;-)

I don't know that I'd ever bother with one that just made noise(although I think it'd still get more attention than a car alarm, since you don't see bikes making noise as much, plus the person stealing it can't hide inside the car unseen while they're trying to start it), but I'd love one that actually make noise to a receiver that I had with me, ESPECIALLY if the receiver had the ability to track the bikes whereabouts. If that was the case it wouldn't even have to make noise at the bike. Someone could grab the bike and I'd have a minute or two to get to it if someone was just screwing with it. If it was someone efficient who actually tossed it in a van and took off I'd at least have some time to figure out where it was before they got it back to where they're going and ripped into it to find the alarm and disconnect it.
