Hey guys I recently just purchased a 2000 gs500e. Bought new main and pilot jets, cleaned carbs, installed new plugs, and air filter. I start the bike up and it idles fine around 1500, but when I apply throttle it slowly idles down and dies. Now sometimes when I start the bike the idle jumps up to 5k rpms and then I adjust the idle screw and bring it down to 1500 and then the bike runs and throttles fine. As im riding sometimes it starts to act up and idle down again, but then I just rev it hard and it turns out fine. Sometimes when I rev while riding the rev takes a second or two and then jumps up.
Im new to bikes and i've broken down the carb plenty of times to make sure jets weren't clogged or anything. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

kinda sounds like the choke is sticking. or not functioning properly. that or the idle mix screw.
i'd also say check the float heights and mixture screws. sounds like you have the same problem i did. just takes a bit of adjustment and you should be good to go.
Rechecked float heights. It seemed like my right carb was not getting enough gas... adjusted float and put some new fuel in tank and runs awesome! Now just needs some more fine tuning.
Thanks guys!
congrats!
im debating whether or not to rejet my carbs this weekend or not. glad you got yours sorted out
