Title: R6 shock versions
Post by: Homer on May 07, 2010, 05:25:46 PM
I've read through the discussions on the R6 shock, and haven't found any real info on the difference between the red and yellow R6 shock.
Does anyone know for sure?

Also, what's up with this one?

I know there are at least two different generations for that year model.  But, someone said the difference was in the top clevis, not the reservoir.

don't know what's up with that one, but I know that I have yellow one and it works fine. Others have red and they work fine.

Conclusion - they both work so get either one, it's major upgrade over stock!

Mine is silver. Not sure why unless someone decided to paint it to blend in. It doesn't look like they did but either way, it seems smooth. I bet there is not really that much difference.

The one you show on ebay has a bottom "eye" mount which will not work. You need the 06 - 07 that has the bottom clevis? mount (2 flat sides like the gs 500.) The top is an eye mount like the one shown.
