Title: Haven't been around much..
Post by: kyle_99_gtp on May 09, 2010, 07:26:28 PM
What's going on GSTwins? I haven't been around much in the last few months, school got real busy until finals were finished last week and I also started a new full time job (after not having a job since last September). I'm working full time as a sales assistant at a large motorcycle dealership (Harding's Park Cycle) in Canton, OH. It's pretty cool, they've got just about everything there (Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Honda, Triumph, HD) and and it's way better than working fast food, but it's a one hour drive each way now that I'm home for the summer (it was only 10 minutes from campus when I was at school). Good thing the GS gets good gas mileage.

Anyhow I'll be around or at least creepin' on here, especially after I get my employee discount and finally buy a pipe and sprocket. Not sure where the GS is going to be headed over the next year. Since I first saw them I have always wanted a Triumph Daytona 675 and the place I'm working is one of the 4 Triumph dealers in Ohio, so I may end up with one sooner than I expected. It's hard to not want to buy one when I walk past them and clean the fingerprints off them every day  ;)

Other than that not much is going on. I'm doing a pretty big build on my GTP, should be like a whole new car when it's done.

I'll save you guys the trouble and say "cool story, bro!" to myself  :icon_razz:

So yeah, that's it. I'm back.

(waits for the "who are you" response)

Sounds like a great job, Kyle! I always thought that an hour commute was too long in a car and too short on a bike.  ;)

Yama: you make me dizzy writing sidedownup,  :flipoff:

Intercooler, cam (removing the high lift rockers), built race transmission (all hard parts, and a 3K RPM Stall converter), ported supercharger/lower intake/throttle body, suspension work and some other junk (Along with everything that's already done to the car). Basically building a high 12 second 1/4 mile, 300+ WHP FWD, fairly reliable daily driver that still gets 25+ MPG's on the highway.

And I'm doing all this crap myself, but I'm afraid to rejet the carbs on the GS  :dunno_black:

Yeah it's pretty nice, and the GS will finally get a sprocket and pipe once I get my employee discount.

The commute wouldn't be so bad except that there's almost no nice roads to ride out here.
