If the Sport came in Silver, I'd be on my short list.

Those are sooo sweet! I dig the Sport 1000 pipes, the PaulSmart Dunstall fairing, Dual shock mounted Single shock, and the frame, and the pipes (same as the Sport); and I like the swingarm on all of them, but the GT is the bike I'd buy, it's just more appealing to me.

Holy cow, I am in love.

That Sport 1000 is pure eye candy.  It also has some sweet suspension.  I'd have to change my underwear after every ride    :nana:
I'll take mine in Red but that Yellow is suweet

The GT is a very nice looking biposto.   I'm still a solo seat guy though

I'm feeling too lazy to click on anything on the site for info.
Are those new bikes for sale or old bikes you're lucky to find someone selling?

zzzz

um... Im speechless, have you not heard of Ducati? Do those bikes not look like they have modern components?
Are you really too lazy to check out some of the most fantastic bikes out there?

They are retor. Completely modern bikes, with modern tech, and everything, with old school '70's styling.

The faired one was at my local duck dealer.  I was amazed when i found out it was A. new, B. for sale.  I can't remember the price but it was in the mid-teens...I just stood there and stared at it for a while...

Diderich, you HAVE to go buy it and give us a full review! It's important for us to know about these things you  know.   ;)

Then, after you've tested it, you have to take it to any other interested site members (ME!) for them to test as well. It's equally important to get get several opinions for a more complete review.   :thumb:

eximport...off of the southwest freeway.

I looked on their website and they listed the bike i saw as the DUCATI MH 900/02 REPLICA.  So seems to be a different bike.  Evidently my memory is failing early at 28.

Same style though.  Retro cafe racer with modern bits.   Probably will cost about the same.  I almost would rather spend $2000 pimping out an sv1000 and have $5000 to spend on something else.  Plus I would have a unique bike and not a unique bike like everyone elses...

The bike i saw at eximports looks like this

Ah, the MH900e!

They had one of these at one of my local bike shops also.  It's super futuristic and retro all at the same time.  Me likey.

Oh, Baby!  Oh, Baby! Oh, Baby!  They are all that with a cherry on the top!  Pity I can't afford one.     If I could I'd go for the Sport 1000- same idea as the SV1000, in the same way as Elle McPherson is the same basic idea as Roseanne!

I think a better comparison would be Marilyn to Brittney.  the SV1000 does not deserve to be compared to Roseanne.  It's a very good looking bike, but pales in comparison to the classic lines of the Sport 1000.

Am I the only one or is there anyone else that is rather un moved by these... Yea The MH900 had a lot of artistically machined.... snore.... But other than the Single sided swingarm... I thought it looks ugly in pics... These are actually better than that...and new and shiny retro look but still nothing I'll fork out 10K for and honestly I dont even think if someone bought me these and dropped it off at my door... I'd want to keep it. I probably would sell it and buy triumph's twin cruiser the america.... Does anyone else feel that way... Or do I need to check in for a Psych evaluation... I wont Cos I am Srinath "A beautiful Mind" Seshadri but just asking...
Cool.

the dual mounted single shock, the retro tread pattern tires, the black racing stripe, the circular turn signals, the single seat, the air-cooled twin...

yes, you need to check yourself into the phych ward.  the sport 1000 is the coolest bike ever.

Well, it's beautiful in person.  The detail, design, craftsmanship is amazing... and it sure looks like it would be hoot to scoot.

Actually, I think they were more than that... and neither would I.  But I wouldn't buy a 911 twin turbo either, but I still ogle.

I'll take the eyesore off of your hands... no charge... no wait, you have to buy me a pizza for my trouble.

Wah ... buh ... muh ....   I ... must  .... have ... one!!!!!!!

Love the sport 1000 but that fender thingy must go!!

Otherwise I am not sure who I lust for more ... Halle Barry or Sport 1000.
Title: That machined trcik components...
Post by: The Buddha on October 23, 2003, 08:30:27 PM
The MH is supposed to habe many manchined intricate and trick components - mainly brackets and hangers that are a work of art .... But the last time I checked "Brackets dont get you home..." Well Fine they may but machined and delicate looking brackets are worse than clunky big ugly ones... so you get my drift...
Cool.

"Brackets dont get you home..."
Actually, a Duc got me home once when I ran out of gas in the middle of an 18 mile stretch of farmland.
This guy pulls up on a sweet new looking Ducati. I had never known of that brand before that day. I am from North Florida ;)
He gave me a half of quart of gas, in an oil can I found.
I was really impressed because none of my ricers had a cool little kickstand for raising the gas tank up. Making it is easier to get at the petcock.

with those bikes it's not about whether they can get you home or not.  though they probably can.  Just because they have intricatly machined parts and are a work of art as well as a working machine, doesn't mean they aren't properly working machines.

Maybe I'm just a young whipper-snapper but I actually like the looks of the Kawasaki ZRX 1200R better, and I can pick up one of those used for less than $6000. Which is still more than twice what I paid for my truck  :x
Title: Yea...

Finally someone who thinks like me... Though I like the 99-02 SV for looks... The tank prop thing is no big deal... You want gas... I can drain off gas from the GS in 10 seconds... and no prop needed. I can also drain from any Jap bike (almost) in about the same time. I like functional elegance. No sense in having elegantly machined brackets just for the sake of having elegantly machined brackets. I like the 89's clip on setup... I think its elegant but it does have its advantages... It feels comfy and right, it also feels narrow and your keys dont get stuck under the handle bar... Yea redemming qualities... However its fragile, hard to find and expensive, and has some fitment issues with grips etc... Answer... Make one that gives you the best of both... Anyway... elegance is subjective... I like things that look and are strong and will stand up to a lot of abuse.
Cool.

That's typical. I would spend more on something I like and would value more.

IMO the MH900 is the ugliest new bike I've seen. I think a 'boat tail' AMF Harley Sportster looks better, but let's see what year was that...? '76?

I'd rather have the standard Bonnieville, but as far uninspiring goes, nothing made today is substandard enough to inspire any original modifications other than an exhaust pipe, which everybody does. Why would I want to be like everybody else? Of course, the more you try to change, the more you stay the same...what song was that?
