Title: HELP O.C.D.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Post by: O.C.D. on May 25, 2010, 07:56:08 AM
So, I am literally ready to add gas and start the bike.  But, I broke the throttle ear/tab on the carb off and I cannot connect my linkage!  And believe it or not I can't afford a new carb setup.

Does anyone have a set that can be donated or even the throttle side carb itself?  I really need some help from the forum.

Here is what I am talking about:

Couldn't you take 2 large washers (at least wider than the broken ear) and cut a slit in them so that it will slide over the cable and tighten the bolts?

IDK, at least to get it enough for testing?

What about JB Weld? lol

I agree on the fix suggestion. I would use both the bolts and washers, combines with JB weld. I have an air compressor that has a quarter JB welded over a hole, that holds 50PSI on an almost daily basis  ( granted the quarter is pointed toward the wall, just in case  :thumb:)

I agree, especially if just temporary for testing.  but we all know how those temporary fixes end up being permanant solutions
