Does anybody know if there is a black Suzuki "S" logo? Since my frame is now black I really don't care to put a silver "S", but that is all I can find so far. I'd also prefer the thicker metal (plastic?) looking kind (as in the newer SV's), as opposed to the dinky cheap flat stickers.
There's a guy that makes and sells thicker covers with machined logos.
They're hard parts to find, though. I'm not sure if he's still doing it.
I cut out the inside of the circle with my Dremel. Glued on 1/4" plexiglass as a window.
Tried to make it LED backlit, using the existing circuitry... didn't work out.
Had a lot of comments on it. People like it.
Didn't care, really. I was just bored and I like using my Dremel.
I bought some TechSpec Gripster HighFusion material to cut into tank pads. I bought the general kit because they don't have a pre-cut set for the GS500. I ended up with some extra material, so I cut out two Suzuki emblems to match the tank pads and the general blackness of my bike. I was going to use some flat silver colored Suzuki logos, but I didn't think they would fit the motif. Here's how they turned out:

Not a big sticker fan, but that looks pretty cool tialloydragon.
Homer- I was talking about the logo for the tank- sorry, wasn't especially clear. Your idea sounds pretty wild, though! Any pics of that?
tialloydragon- good idea! I might run that route if I don't find anything else.
My tank is a dark metallic red and the frame is flat black. I wonder if I could just buy silver logos and paint them over (they might be chromed?).
Thanks for the replies!

Why would you mar your tank with extra stickers!!!!??????
Black sticker vinyl or whatever it is and some careful cutting might be a good(well since you'd have a sticker then not really) way to go.

Because as beautiful as my alizarin (who knew that was a color?) tank is by itself, I think it needs a little something to tie it together once its on the bike (a purely design/artistic decision. Ahem, PachmanP just like how some people like an E bike with a naked F headlight :cookoo:). I think a bike with no representation looks 'unfinished'. I love my GS, I don't mind showing it's a GS.
I was at the Harley store the other day and one of the customers had a Suzuki SX4 in the lot. It was orange and black and he had taken off every emblem (maybe just embarassed? haha). In a way, it was cool just because of the mystery of having something that most people won't recognize, but my eye was slightly bothered by the fact that there was nothing to answer "what is that?!". The spot where an emblem should be was
annoyingly blank. Hmm, sounds like 'debranding' would make a great experiment for a sociologist/psychologist.
Maybe instead of an 'S' I should put a 'K' or some random squigly brand. Oh, Danny, now you've got me a' thinkin'...!
