Seems like these bikes are way prone to batt problems, for various reasons well covered on this board.
But one thing not mentioned that i know of, is that the Battery may be vulnerable to physical damage due to placement under the seat. Not much clearance there and if the seat post things are worn down you may be resting some of your body weight on the battery, which is not designed for that and may suffer terminal/plate damage.
Just something to consider if you have unsolvable battery problems.
Good to know, I'll have t look at that. I just try to keep the water level up and pray on my 06 model. Do they make a maintenance free battery for the GS?
Scorpion AGM battery $54 including shipping.

I have a scorpion sealed battery, cost $90 and makes 111 amp-hours versus 110 stock :icon_rolleyes:. mainly though its sealed and has never droped below 12.7 volts (usually 12.9) even after sitting uncharged last winter.

I think you meant 11 Vs 10 Amp Hours. 110 amp hours battery weighs about 80-100 pounds ;)
I have a scorpion. Charged it, and slipped it in this Feb or March. Never thought about it much again until now. :thumb:
