can you get the front brake off any motorcycle and stick em on another as long as the mounting points are the same and you have the master cylinder/lever as well? ive been looking at some brakes and the mount points seem very similar, if not the same, unless theyre radial mount or perimeter (buell).
:? i dont see why that wouldnt work, but, you also have to make sure that the caliper will grab on the disc with the new brake sys. at the same point as the originals would. what i am saying is if the holes line up, but only half of the pad is making contact, then it wont be effective, and could possibly be dangerous :thumb:
ah good point
not just mount points, but offset and depth to proper rotor contact.
do rotors have a standard bolt pattern? what if u got the rotors, calipers and master cylinder? and used spacers if the offset wasnt correct?
anything is do-able if you are willing to invest the time and energy into it :) im personally happy w/the stock set-up, cause i dont do endo's or wheelies often, nor do i race. the brakes could be better, but they are not too bad. but if you want to do it, do your homework and go for it  :thumb:
Why not just go all-out and put in a gixxer front end?!? Then you'd have some killer brakes and no more cushy front end! Drop in a Kat shock, and you're ready to go to Willow.
Disclaimer: Not actual suggestion, I'm just dicking with you.
