Title: Looking to clean engine/metal parts on my GS500F
Post by: rock_rebel on June 22, 2010, 02:39:36 PM
My GS500F is a few years old now and there's some heavy oxidization/corrosion on the engine and most of the other exposed metal parts. Are there any cleaning compounds I could use to clean this, and how tough is the job? The parts look like a grey-ish color thats rough to the touch. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Maybe just use some simple green for degrease and then some Eagle 1 aluminum cleaner to break up oxidization.

never dull works on aluminum  takes some work but it should clean it up anything big enough to use a buffing wheel on you can use that with an aluminum polishing compound and that will clean it up.  if you really want to go crazy you can start with 400 500 600 on up until its shiny then buff it out for a polished mirror finish then wax it to keep it looking good.
