Just saw Them Bones. Liked it.
The Road was pretty good, too.
Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs - Thumbs up. Satisfying tale tale of a young man's quest for acceptance with a poignant critique of American obesity.
Ass Anaconda 9 - Thumbs down. Good character development, but lacks satisfying climax.
band of brothers - one of those movies you could close your eyes, and imagine you were there. ( ive got ww2 era photos from both sides ( from family) showing many of the locations
patton - if anythign showed the man for whom he was, this was a pretty decent attempt at it.
BTW pachman was that second one a porno or something?

I took the wife to see Eclipse yesterday. She loved it.
I loved the Cinnapretzel http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&q=cinnapretzel&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&ei=OscsTJvoE8aqlAeB0-m4CQ&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=4&ved=0CC0QsAQwAw&safe=active (http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&q=cinnapretzel&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&ei=OscsTJvoE8aqlAeB0-m4CQ&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=4&ved=0CC0QsAQwAw&safe=active)they had at the consession stand.

Mega maid,,, shes gone from suck... to blow!!!
Has anyone seen A Team, yet?
How lame is the new B.A. Baracus?
Reign of Fire.
Van Zan reminded me of SPC :thumb:
Death at a Funeral......and not the crappy Americanized version. It was just excellent, one of the few movies I would consider purchasing rather than renting.

Reign of Fire.
Decent flick, if not a little corny.
Pretty Bird = pretty sucky.
Fictional story of an H2O2 jetpack reinvention, loosely based on actual events. It stunk so bad, my fake plants died.
Shutter Island = 4 stars out of 5
If you fit in the target audience - jaded middle-aged males with authority/trust issues, or females attracted to what's-his-name.
Otherwise, you'll be bored to tears. Outcome (and entire plotline) has dual meaning, which is apparent from the start.
Brief scene with Jackie Earle Haley.
Ip Man 1 and 2. Best work by Donnie Yen yet. The fight scene in Ip Man 2 between Donnie and Sammo is the BEST!
Toy Story 3: absolute must see....... That is all.
Equilibrium = :thumb: :thumb: Enjoyable movie. Fan made film clip using scenes from the movie and Evanescence's song Bring Me To Life http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPypRhzfiAY (spoilers in clip)

I liked Rampage as the new BA. My son took me to see it for fathers day.
"How to Train Your Dragon" was pretty good if you enjoy animated films.
Gran Torino - pretty corny, but decent story
Watchmen - if you haven't seen it yet, get off your fat wombat @ss and rent it.

I bought this movie. Watched it. Then took it in to work for our Movie Lending Library. That is... I took it on, tossed it on the lunch room table Free for anyone to take, watch and then also bring back to leave on the table for others to take, watch and bring back. If someone decides to keep it, so be it. It was partly enjoyable. Otherwise, nah. Maybe a 4 out of ten. Would score higher if it wasn't for the sex scenes - if I want to watch soft porn I'll get such a movie, cause in Action type movies it drags the whole pace down and the scenes drag on too long.
Michael
Gran Torino. Classic Eastwood great movie absolute must see.
Watchmen... meh special effects smeshial effects really wasn't that great, good for a once view not something I would run out and buy.
Knight and Day: If you've seen the last MI3 you've seen this. Has a MacGuffin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacGuffin) to move the plot along (MI3 had The Rabbits Foot) this has the Zephyr (mega powered never die battery). It's entertaining enough. Script spoilers was Cameron Diaz's line wanting to have some really great sex (groan). Out of place in the plot, scenario, scene, etc. Would have been better off without it.
Eclipse: If you've seen the 1st two in the series you'll notice the difference in direction and slightly Darker feel to the flick. Camera angles are a little different. And if'n you've read the books in the series, this movie really motors along to keep up with the book so people not familiar with the book might think some things are odd (why is Alice and Jasper so welcomed at the Human table at lunch, why did Bella kiss Jacob). Rosalie tells her back story. Jasper tells his too. As does the Tribe Chief. Saw it back to back with Knight and Day and enjoyed it more than Knight and Day.

Okay Mister you were the last one I would have thought to be watching teen vampire movies.
That would be like me commenting on a romantic comedy.
Mary
green zone = predictable as the sun rise
shutter island = similar as above, but more boring
instead of a thumbs up/down, there should be an explosion count- explosion counts are pretty good way of rating the suck value of a film.
i wonder if there is a rating system somewhere that doesn't cater to the latest sleezeleases from hollywood.
itunes + instant rentals is pretty cool. problem is, all the movies SUCK, so there isn't even a point in removing the drm to save for later :)
Inception was pretty good. Worth the ticket, just for the sound immersion.
I'd see it again, if I hadn't already.

Ditto. Certainly worth the ticket.
Buttman and Throbbin' was kinda ghey
Throbin Hood (Prince of Beaves) had at least a decent climax
Saw predator, it wasn't half bad. Pothead in line said inception is AWESOME if you're high and really, really, really farking scary if you're tripping... :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes:
Yep. And the zero G scene might make you puke.

Romantic Comedy (AKA Chick Flick) = blech. I canNOT stand them. Don't watch them.
As for Twilight Eclipse being a Teen movie. I don't think of movies like that. I ignore the propaganda and watch it for what it is... an entertaining movie with some action sequences and some humor.
Michael
mister, your man card is hereby permanently revoked. There is no appeals process, the only way to regain your man card is to nail 5 chicks in the same night or kick Chuck Norris's a$$.
Wolfman... what a farking waste of time :icon_confused:
What is Wolfman?
Book of Eli : Post-apocalyptics are my favorite, but this one greatly disappointed me. About 20 disappoints per minute.
Woke up with a migraine the next morning.
Valentines Day: the chick flick with all the famous people. Moody, depressing, lots of fashion, the tall guy from Punked, lots of flowers. Jessica Alba's side-boob, if you like her.
Redbox movie about Georgia O'Keefe: Very pretty actress and Doc from Back to the Future. Some side-boob. Mostly relationship drama. Very little art history.
Defiance: All the Jews in Belarus during the Holocaust apparently knew each other.
Gave me a headache. Apparently a true story. Of suck.
This, however... damn fine movie:

Wasn't that the one with the guy that plays Bond in the new Bond films? Yeah, that was a pretty hokey movie. I refuse to believe that the directors didn't take a farking TON of 'creative liberty' on that one...
Dinner for Schmucks: Hilarious.

I could understand all teh jews in a small town knowing eachother. BUT belarus is a pretty large area
Hot Tub Time Machine: like sticking your foot in a food processor.

I just watched Book of Eli over the weekend. I took into account all the bad reviews so going in I was expecting a vaey bad movie. It is amazing how lowering you expectations made the movie enjoyable. I liked it but was glad I waited to for the DVD.

Inception: I'll be grabbing it when it comes out on DVD. Gave me a new appreciation for Leo as an actor. Thought the character Saito was familiar somehow. Wasn't played by Chow Yun-Fat from Pirates 3, but the same guy who played Ra's al Ghul in Batman Begins - Ken Watanabe. Some debate about the end cause it leaves you guessing.
Salt: Left it open for a another movie. Jolie wasn't pouting annoyingly in this so I enjoyed her performance more. Very entertaining.
Michael
Get Him to the Greek was pretty awesome, I saw it three times, laughed my ass off each time.
I can't believe they're releasing a "special edition" of Avatar again in imax...I wonder how much they'll make this time.
Salt: Saw it at the drive in, just bought the DVD/Blueray - liked it obviously. Is she a sleeper Russian Spy or has she been set up and is trying to clear her name? Is the blonde Salt at the Agency the same Dark haired Salt in New York? Does Liev Schreiber really belong in the Handsome Mens Club? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyGJXLxtVEo
Expendables: Is this really like The Dirty Dozen but better? How long is a piece of string? I will say though... Jet Li has the funniest lines, Jason Stratham does the best acting, I wish Randy Couture got to show off More of his UFC-type moves though I do like how his fighting past was subtly weaved into the story. Mickey Rourke's Monologue was a tad predictable but quite well done nonetheless. I would have picked a different leading lady. I enjoyed it.
Michael
My 2 that I've seen recently;
1. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
I knew nothing about this and was pleasantly suprised. Great thriller.
2. Buried
This was also a hidden gem. Who knew an entire movie filmed in a box could actually be decent.
And if you liked #1, you'll likely want to see 'The Girl who played with fire' ... it picks up where Tattoo left off.
True Grit(2010) The remake, I kept hearing this wasn't going to be much like the original, seemed pretty close to the John Wayne version to me, over all I enjoyed it.
The Book of Eli, the road with some action scenes and a biblical plot, the shame of it is I knew the story line just a few minutes into the movie. There was a SciFi short story written in the 50's or 60's I read where the man was the book very similar to this movie, I wish I could remember what short story collection it was in so I could bust the writers for plagerism. Terry Goodkind also used a similar concept as a subplot in the first of his series of books, The Wizards First Rule. Altogether predictable though my wife took longer to catch on, it seems when you have read 10's of thousands of SciFi, Fantasy and fiction stories and novels that nothing new and original is being written anymore.
I just watched Salt on Dec. 26...not that great, not a bad movie, but nothing really memorable...or beleivable...Angelina takes on whole security teams and kicks butt, but one guy she can't beat??...atleast let her get hit a few times...maybe I just wasn't in the mood...??
Took the kids to Tangled...it was okay...the kids loved it, and wouldn't stop talking about it...
Later.
