I am getting ready to purchase a pair of Teknic Lightning boots (black) to go with my 2pc Teknic Chicane Leathers (black):
http://www.teknicgear.com/pages/collections/supersport/boot.html
My problem is I wear a size 6.5M shoe. Either a website will offer it in a men's size 7US or 40Euro. Based on Teknic's own sizing chart a 40 is equivalent to a women's size 8.5US.
Would I be correct in saying this is the same as a men's size 6.5US?
I have also found a few websites that offer a size 39Euro. Would this be too small?
Would I want to wear regular socks or do I need to buy thicker socks specifically for my racing boots?
Here are the cheapest prices I have found:
- www.gforcecycles.com ($156 + S/H))
- www.motodepot.com ($160 + S/H)
- www.cyclepages.com ($162 + S/H)
Has anyone had any experience with these websites?
I would say that a men's 6.5 would be equivalent to a woman's 8.5 based on my experience. My shoe size is 8, and I have a pair of men's Simpson crew shoes in men's 6.5m, and they are a little large. I have a pair of Daytona motorcycle boots in Euro 39, and they are only slightly large. Large enough to probably wear 2 pairs of socks, but don't feel as large as the Simpson shoes.
You can probably wear normal athletic socks with the boots. That's what I usually do.
Email Paul or Holly at newenough.com. they have the answers for you on such things. They're actually pretty good about their sizing information-they might already have what you need on their website but if not a simple email will get you an answer.
Pam G,
If your size 39Euro is "slightly large" and you wear a Women's size 8US (Men's size 6US), then it sounds like I might be able to fit into a size 39Euro if I wear a Men's size 6.5US (Women's size 8.5US).
What do you think?
