looks good. the red and matte black is a recurring theme but it's nice to see some new spins on it. can't wait to see the "final" product! (the changes never really stop though huh? haha)
THats goona look sharp. I'm a fan of matte black, my helmet is all matte black with red around the vents. The pic of that car is sweet. Don't put any stickers or anything on it when your done, just the silver 'S' on the tank. Stickers/Decals will slow the bike down anyway ;)
Not really. I really wasnt a fan of the blue! its a local college sports teams color. lol next project will be to move the exhaust to under the tail.

I do have some carbon fiber "SUZUKI" graphics that I was planning on putting either along the bottom or down the side of the frame. but definitly going to keep it clean!
Very nice, can't wait to see the finished product! Too each his own of course, but I've never understood why people do this :dunno_black:

People relate stickers to performance, eg. you buy Blitz for you car, you want onlookers to know you have a beefy exhaust thus the sticker?? that is what i see when i look at stickers, although i would never put stickers on my bike!!
I would like to get rid of those big orange bug catchers on each side of my bike. any ideas?

I agree, in that setting. But don't get me wrong, if Repsol or RedBull wanted to
pay me to put their stickers all over my bike..I'd do so in a heartbeat

Me too. I just took the back ones off. I'm thinking of the Clear Alternatives integrated taillight. Though, it's a little rounded and I wonder if it will work on a GS500E, since it's meant for the F. I've been debating whether or not I should pull the rear fairings off. I really like the look of a stripped down GS, and all the awesome builds on here don't have rear fairings.
Not sure what I would do about front turn signals, though they don't bother me nearly as much as the ugly rear antennas.

Still need to do a write up.
Mary
Those look pretty sweet! What bike did you get them off of? bolt right on? How much did $ did it cost you?
They came off a Gixxer. I had to make back plates and drill the fairing. Also, created some block off plates to keep the vibes down.
I got them for a steal at $24 on ebay. YMMV on that one!
Mary
What do you think it would cost to have mine just painted pearl white with no writing or anything else fancy? Just plain white no writing or anything. Thanks

Took a lot of work getting this thing put back together but well worth the wait! Ran me about $650 bucks and about 30 total man hours of paint prep, taking the thing apart and back together again.
That is absolutely sick as fnuk, matches the helmet. I love the black suzuki logo too. awesome job!
Get some good bars/clip-ons and flush signals and I will vote for best in show. if there was a show. which there is in my head. theres a white f model with custom vinyl on this forum that just got bumped to no. 2.
I wish I had the drive/time to paint mine, every time I say "today is the day I strip it down for paint" I end up riding somewhere. I cant look at mine without riding. again very cool
phuck...does that ever look good!! Nce work. Like the Suzuki position too. Take some more pics outside :)
I usually don't like that look.
But, that's pretty nice. :thumb:
I think it's the placement and color of the Suzuki logo. Subtle.
Spraybomb the ignition-key stack with GOOD Rustoleum flat black. And +1 on flushmounts, or even better- some nice billet shorty stalks.
I like how you kept the other silver bits - heel guards and the allen-heads, shifter, casings, etc.
Start slapping CF overlay on it, though, and you'll belong on the wall with the deer.

Thanks! I've seen some good looking bikes on here so I don't think mines the best, but I am being a little modest too! Lol it does look pretty good! I'm getting ready to take it out for a spin around town and head across the river to take some. Pics of it with the city in the background. Nice and sunny today! Also have to run over to ace hardware to see if I can find some screws for the windscreen. A couple of those plasic pieces of crap striped as I was putting it back together last night.
Next project when I get some more spare cash is to get rid of the turn signals. Integrated rear and something custom up front. Maybe relocate the license plate soon. This winter I'm going to try to move the exhaust under the tail. Get a new air box and rejet. By that time I might just be ready to move up to a GSXR 750. Maybe... I'm kind of fond of this thing now! Lol more pics to come later in a few hours! I won't keep you guys waiting too long!
Alrighty folks, here are some good pics. The sun wasn't exactly being helpful as it was mid afternoon and I was kinda looking into it to take the pics with the city in the background. But went around town and took. One next to the football stadium as well. Let me know what ya think! Strange that it feels faster now! Lol

Love it O0 O0
 berry berry sexy
I would go ahead and do the case covers and heel guard and stuff black as well. Sort of finish it off. But I like it. O0
For some reason it reminds me of The A-Team!!!
you need to paint the bottom half of the forks black itll make a world of differance, trust me. also all the little silver peices, like the heads of bolts, and the chain tensioners on the swingarm would go a long way painted black, just little stuff you know, makes it look even better :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I debated on that for a while and the plan was to paint the bottom half of the forks black as well. When I dropped the frame off to get it painted red I forgot to tell him to blast the forks and didn't remember until I got it back to my garage. So I thought about it and played with it on photoshop a bit and decided just to leave all the silver and chrome bits as is. I'm pretty happy with it for now. Maybe down the road I will repaint all that stuff. Gonnt work on some clipons or similar, flush mount signals and an integrated tail next. Then lunchbox, new exhaust, and rejet. Prolly after that you will see it for sale on here. Lol
Did you paint the plastics yourself? If so, what did you use? I'm getting ready to paint mine all silver (laid it down in my gravel driveway on Sunday) too much front break + gravel driveway = new look for my bike...eck...been wanting a different look anyway.

I took it to a local body shop. The tank had to be sanded down due to the vynal graphic that was clear coated over. I wanted it don't right and not half ass. Not sure the paint brand he used, but cost me $650 bucks. I was quoted 450, but the extra work on the tank was 200... I'm very happy with the result! It turns way more heads than before! Had a guy pull up next to me on a busa that told me nice bike! Lol I was like, wanna trade? Lol
OMG...

uck.
You painted too much. Calipers, rotors, timing cover. You're trying too hard.

Well tell me what you really think? Lol 99% of everyone I talk to think its pretty bad ass. So I guess if almighty "Homer tho wombat lover" doesn't like it I should redo it then? Lol
I'm very happy with my bike! Good feeling to dream something up and see it come to life! Everyone is entitled to their opinion. IMO mike bike looks better than most of the bikes I see on here. }m not a fan of the "naked" bikes, so of course I think mine looks better than all of those. I did see that new guys bike with the carbon fiber vynal that was pretty cool. I was actually looking to wrap the front fender with the same stuff. But that's my opinion and I'm entitled to it...

You asked, and I was being nice.
As I said, I don't usually like that look. It's usually a clear indication of a sensitive, hair-trigger, argumentative 20-something that can't take constructive criticism without excessive macho posturing to throw everyone off the trail of their own insecurities and shortcomings.
I respect the amount of work you've put into it, and was really hoping to be proved wrong this time. It looked really nice. Like someone that's used to respect, not used to needing to demand it.
Edit:And, since everyone will doubtlessly be drawn to the argument like moths to a flame, feeding the need for attention which I don't think you understand, let me ask you this:
Quote from: Nber1LouFan on June 24, 2010, 10:15:25 AM99% of everyone I talk to think its pretty bad ass.
Why aren't you happy with their compliments, then? Why are you on the internet, being so incensed by some random Joe with an opinion?
What do you have against wombats?
I can handle the criticism very well. I havent been on this forum long, but I have notice your very rude and blunt towards others on here. As far as insecurities I think you should take a look in the mirror there guy.
As far your questions: I am happy with their compliments. I'm on the internet to post pictures of the work I put in on my bike in which I am proud of. Also this is a GS500 Forum so its nice to get feed back from others that have the same bike (the F). Who knows my bike may give someone else an idea in which they can do something better? I have nothing against wombats, why is a grown a$$ mas obsessed with them?
FYI Im a 28 year old Iraq Veteran. If anyone knows anything about respect it would be myself. Dont make assumptions about someone because of their age or assume anything for that matter. "Most of our assumptions have outlived their uselessness"
Also first you say you like it, tell me I needed to do more, and then turn around and say you dont and that I did too much...
You ever wonder what it'd be like if you had a clone?
Whether you'd p!ss yourself off, or what exactly would happen?
I'm not gonna argue with you.
Not too bad, but I think its a little too much red. I was thinking the frame would look better in a flat dark grey that still shows a decent contrast from the body with a little bit of red accents like the first picture you posted of the car. But just my opinion.

Thanks! The pictures make the red look a little brighter than it really is. Its a soft flat red. I was planning on the rims being black and the lip flat red. The body shop misunderstood me, but after I seen it I thought it looked pretty good so I left it as is.
