Rode to Virginia last week (up Highway 62, if anyone's familiar with it).
At about 7 pm, I encountered a very angry, very confused turkey.
The road cleared a group of trees and opened up into a field of hay about 300 meters deep. The crazy bird was about 100 meters off the road, and plotted an immediate intercept course.
I've heard of dogs doing it. Never turkeys. Has anyone else?
He was all alone. I assume it was a "he". Can't figure it out. Maybe my green bike looked like a giant tasty bug?
I was doing about 80.
Couldn't remember the MSF course recommendation, so I just sped up. The crazy f*cker made a course adjustment!
Edit:
Don't have a related image. Take this truck-ipede instead.

I've had this happen to me before. I was riding some trails on my mtn bike and got on the road to head home when I came across a small group. All but one scattered, the one that didn't charged towards me. Surprised the hell out of me.
The hunters are full of sh!t with all that camouflage.
I wonder what would happen if you charge one back.
I went Turkey 'hunting' with a friend once. None of that getting dressed up in camo, getting up early crap. I drove and he hung out the window with a shotgun while we drove down some back roads. Worked like a charm.
I always heard you should roll off, roll on. Works for dogs in my experience. They make the first trajectory correction, but can't make the second. And with a Yoshimura can and no noise baffle, my bark is louder than the dog's!

I once had a Buck charge my car. To, what I would assume was, protect his mate. He had me swerve all the way off the left side of the road and drift the dirt.. just missed him. He chased me for about 10 seconds until he realized I was much faster than him.

I went cougar hunting last night. I walked into my regular bar and almost fell over. There were 4 excellent examples, all quite inebriated. :icon_twisted: ........
Ok, we get it. You like to hump old women.
No one has jokes on the truck-ipede at all? :icon_sad:
