In a little over an hour, I'll officially be a quarter of a century old
I'm goin easy tonight, Some Frank on the 33.3, some 20 year old scotch and a 20 year old Russian coming over when she gets off work ;)
I bought myself a few more presents as well :icon_mrgreen:
This:

and a french cuff Robert Graham from last season that I couldn't pass up at the price.
so you post pics of the shirt? we want pics off the russian! and happy birthday
as i said. on my bday ( although not a fun day)i sing it every time, i get toasted on my bday. " happy birthday to me, so drunk i cant see...." i cnanot think of anythign else to put in there. sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, happy bday man
I didn't get out of bed until 1400 :icon_mrgreen: and then only to pour a scotch :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen:
Well, that awful day is almost over and I've got to catch some shut eye, going to an auction in the AM.
Whippersnapper.
Happy belated birthday.
Thanks BP.
On the bright side, Geico is re-evaluating my policy :icon_mrgreen: I'm always happy to pay less in insurance.
Soooo get anythign at the auction?
Nope, it was a bust this time. It happens. They had a few items I was interested in that went for well above FMV and a few more that were misrepresented. (a 1712 map, only problem was the paper was mid 19th century, the western coastline of America was complete and fairly accurate and there was no map maker's name... and it went for 650... :cookoo: ) I kinda chickened out on an uncirculated $1000 CSA bond, bidding got a little steeper than I cared to invest :icon_confused:
It was a new auction and I won't be going back. I'm not sure if they were incompetent or fraudsters. They had this nasty habit of giving 24k melt values on <18k jewelry and including non gold weight in their claimed TW.
Wheee! I'm on percocet again!
I pinched a nerve yesterday moving a bunch of furniture while volunteering at my church's thrift shop. My entire arm is throbbing...
heh i had a seizure yesterday again, hit hard on floor, cant get a damn thing. other than flexeril. lol until i see a doctor or somethign :embarassed:  lol. just got home from hosp.. ahh well a day or two to rest, tehn back to work. take it easy terry , btw pics of teh russian?
Geebus Yama! Take care of yourself!
The Russky is gone, they usually don't last more than 2 weeks. Those women are insane and at the end of the day most of 'em are just trying to get pregnant so they can stay here :icon_rolleyes: I got a number from another one today at the grocery store (lots of em end up there) I'll try to remember pics, but I probably wont call her until this weekend at the earliest.
I've got a friday night lined up with a student from the art school, they're almost as bad as the Russky's for crazy, but thankfully most of them aren't interested in getting knocked up.
The arm is tons better, but that sh!t sucked!

Getting old sucks! LOL
I have developed kidney stones had surgery 1.5 weeks ago to have the one in my ureter broken up. Got another one in the left kidney they are going to do the ultrasonic shockwave on to break up so it doesnt get in the ureter and block it.
I spent a solid 8 days on Lortab 10's and percoet 5's. I still have about 3 dozen percocet left so I am happy.
Damn, BP, kidney stones are lame... I've never had 'em, but know several people that have...
Went to a new auction tonight. It was interesting...
I didn't get much, a WWII era unit photo of an Artillery training Co., a '50's leather portfolio, a very clean travel suitcase from the '40's and a lot of 12 USGI cots. Grand total was under $30 with tax and premium, the photo should pull $100 when I narrow down the exact unit, the portfolio should do about the same once I clean it up, not a clue about the suitcase (only in it $2) and I should be able to move all of the cots fast at $20 per.
id grab one of those cots if i had teh cash to spare, but nice score. reminds me of an auction i went to about a year ago. snagged 16 SS rings, ( empty) along with20 6x8mm white sapphires, total? $15, well $16.50 counting commisions, i mounted the stones, and sold each ring, for $15, also god a 1 gallon bucket of scrap ( from a closed jeweler. got it for 5 plus commision. what did i get, maybe an ounce of plate,6 ounces of scrap gold, and a tad over a pound of sterling, and a couple grams of platinum. sold the gold. gave teh funds frmo it to father. ( dealing with moms illnesswas financially draining) still have th silver. going to fire up the torch, and pull out the molds/ingot plates, and melt it down. maybe do some sculpting. but that was a crap shoot that paid off. nicely
:D :D
Bought 10 boxes of Hornady leverevolution 30-30 for 12.50/box at auction today :thumb:
I also scored a 1967 Camillus pilot's survival knife in excellent condition for $15. Debating whether to sell it. Quintupling my money fast is always good, but I like this little knife.
Got some other odd ball crap to resell as well, nothing very interesting though.
Correction, an ounce of PLAT. ( platinum ) not plate :nono: i saved that stuff for fabbing up rings, platinum is NOT cheap
Low dollar amount spent at tonight's auction.
I got a lot containing ~100 wooden hangers and a shoe rack for $5 (keeping that, can never have to many hangers and my shoes were taking up an entire wall of my bedroom...)
I got a lot of smoking crap. Several vintage pipes from decent names, some really neat ashtrays, a handful of good lighters and a seriously nice cigar cutter made in Solingen.
Sh!t yama, an ounce of platinum is 1500+!!!

aye :( a pretty good haul for essentially what amounted to the auctioneer opening up the top showing it, and taking bids, i figured why not
Snagged an unknown Hugh Mesibov etching titled 'Instant Dream' that appears to be from his post-WWII era of artwork. The only other Mesibov etching on the market currently is in a NY gallery listed for $2400, I bought mine for $5. I kinda like it too...
