Business is business. The dollar comes first the rest is all secondary. I don't pick up magazines too often for the same reason. Seems like I'm paying for ads rather than content most of the time

That's interesting after that whole thread we just had about flip up helmets and how a lot of people weren't interested in them because they weren't snell approved, even if they meet DOT standards.

My problem with DOT "standards" is that the manufacturers self-certify compliance.  Some of the manufacturers can't even get the label right!  To be Snell certified, the manufacturer must submit the helmet (and pay the foundation) for the objective testing.  I am going to get a Snell M2010 lid next, and that specification was probably influenced by Ford's article of '05.
