Title: oil seals and sonic springs
Post by: 007brendan on July 09, 2010, 07:48:56 PM
I suspected this a couple weeks ago, but it's now very clear that my fork oil seals are leaking. As long as I'm replacing the seals, I figured I would switch out the oil with fresh 20w, and replace the stock springs with stiffer sonic springs.

Can anyone point me to the correct seal to buy?  Does anyone know if sonic springs come with spacers?  Or do I need to make those myself?

Sonics come with a single PVC tube that you cut to length, or they did 2 years ago.

Thanks.  So what about the oil seals, where do I get those?  I looked on the BikeBandit parts fiche, but there are a handful of things labeled "Seal"; not sure which one I should get.

number 5 is the actual oil seal. i would say call your local dealership to see how much it is because from what i've found, my dealership is only a few dollars more expensive, but they have the parts in stock and it's cheaper than ordering from bike bandit because the shipping cost, and i dont have to wait for parts.
