I've been reading up on these in the GS500 wiki, and am interested in replacing the stock mirrors on my GS500F with these. Where can I find the installation instructions as the wiki only contains the materials I'd need. Thanks!
Anyone?
I *think* that you need to drill new mounting holes. but I dont know.
toogoofy has them on her f model, try a search for gsxr mirrors, and you may have some luck
There really isn't a "do this" you have to measure it out. I made base plates to go underneath by hand with a 1/2" thick piece of aluminum. Took a file and did each one. They weren't mirror images. The top plates that I made were easy I outlined the mounting brackets from the stock and used two small pieces of metal from home depot they took about 15 minutes. the back brackets about 3 hours total.
The wiring was cake as well. I didn't cut the stock gsxr mirror wiring I soddered the 500 ones inside of it and easy peasy!

IF you want more close ups etc. I can help. Oh, here is some random along the way.

Looks like crap - don't bother :nono:
Well, thanks to you buddy, At least I am trying to be creative with my bike and it added what I wanted integrated turn signals. Alot, of my biker friends say they notice me much faster than with the LED POS that were on there when I bought it!
isn't there a quote out there "those who can do. those who can't criticize those that do."
Oh well opinions are like a$$holes......

Actually, I have a '99 VFR800 with integrated signal light mirrors from an '04 RSV-R Aprilia. And Ohlins suspension from an RC51, holding a front wheel from a Ducati 996 with brake rotors from a Ducati 748R, in triple clamps from a Honda CBR954 using front brake calipers and master cylinder from a CBR600F4.
shall we send you a cookie?
no need to take things personal toogoofy.
it is just an opinion after all.
they look crap in my opinion too. doesnt mean i hate you though.
as long as you like it is what counts :thumb:
Don't be dissin' other people's work. Those indicators do add a more modern look to the GS. And what's this talking about other bikes. This is a GS500 forum. Go somewhere else if you want to talk about other bikes.

Thanks so much for this! :) A lot of good info. I did notice today while riding that the mirrors are a lot steadier now than when I had the fairings on. The fairings have been in a crash before and were "sewed together" then re-painted, so I don't think they're sturdy as new ones. Right now I'm just riding around with the stock headlight until I can find a different one I can afford!
Not to be mean, but it kinda looks like your bike has puppy ears, Goofy.
Maybe if you switch the left side to the right, and vice versa?
Edit:
Wait! Don't you work at Disney World? And your name's Goofy. And your bike has puppy ears. Oh... you're never living this down. :icon_twisted:

If they were flipped they would look like bunny ears. That would be Bugs Bunny from Warner Bros. That just wouldn't do.
Yeah, 'ole flick does have the sad puppy ears look. I tried to go up higher to make him a bit perkier (is that even a word LOL) but could not fashion a back mounting plate and didn't want to risk cracking my fairing. I tried flipping them but that looked really bad.
As someone said all in all I like it and that's all that really matters. Yeah, it hit me a little hard being that I just got home from the hospital still had a 103.2 tempreture and the first thing I see is someone bashing my handiwork. I was just posting it up because someone had asked for it wasn't really looking for accolades or anything.

BTW Homer I don't work for the mouse any more. I work for Universal now. Traitor I guess but am still a Goofy nut!
