Title: #3 washers?
Post by: jiggersplat on October 27, 2003, 10:36:11 AM
local hardware store was out of #4 washers, so i got #3's to shim the needle.  they fit over it fine.  any reason why i shouldn't use them?

Check to see what thickness... You dont want to lift it more than 1 mm... and I like to do it in 1/2mm increments.
Cool.

I bought #4s for my 2001 and they were way to large (in inner diameter and outer diameter)... no way they would work. #3's fit perfectly.

What year is your GS?

You can buy shims for $2 on this page and you'll know they fit properly as the shims that fit the SV650 also fit the GS500.
