If anyone is interested in more protective gear (and who isn't on this board?), newenough.com has a closeout deal on FirstGear mesh pants: http://www.newenough.com/street/closeouts/mesh_jackets_and_pants/first_gear/mesh_tex_2_mesh_motorcycle_pants.html
I just received mine yesterday. Living in Florida, you need all the protection AND airflow you can get! :thumb:
Most sizes are still available. My legs are kinda long and the length of the "regular" was just right for me. Looks like they run a bit long. The waist size was perfect.
This might be a dumb question, but what do you wear under these? Do you wear these INSTEAD of normal clothes or are these meant to go on top of a pair of jeans?
I wore only my Spiderman underwear under the mesh pants.
They are made like regular pants: zipper, snap, pockets. They are not see-through. And they are definitely not raingear!
Darn, I'm looking for something that I can wear over my clothes on my way to work. I only ride 3 miles to work but I still don't like the fact I'm only wearing a jacket and helmet for any distance.
I've also been taking advantage of the weather and spending my entire lunch break riding around Dublin/Columbus, so I'd really like something I could just slip on over my slacks.
Gunslinger:
I jumped on the deal last year for the Fieldsheer Mercury overpants. I didn't really wear them until the temperatures dropped to 70°F, but now wear them whenever the temps are under 95°. The 100% waterproof "breathable" barrier makes them very hot, and the vents are therefore worthless. But they are easy enough to slip them on and off over your pants and make for very effective winter gear when you put in the quilted liner.
They have upgraded them to 2.0: http://www.newenough.com/street/protective_apparel/textile_jackets_and_pants/fieldsheer/mercury_2_textile_motorcycle_pants.html
