Title: Which year forks
Post by: johnnytang24 on July 21, 2010, 02:47:31 PM
Hi,

I went down a couple of weeks ago and the shop says I need new forks.  I have an '04 GS500F.  Will forks off a 1995 GS500 fit?

Which years will fit?

Thanks.

EDIT:  I guess even better would be to get forks that will accept dual disc brakes up front.  Are there any that will  swap right in?

In order to get dual front disk brakes, you'll need to swap in a Katana Front end. There are already guides showing how to perform this modification.

Well, dual discs up front isn't that important.  Now that I think about it, I'd rather just fix it for as cheap as possible.

As far as I know, any year GS front end is a direct bolt on.

Ok,  thank you very much for your help.  Just to be sure, when the shop says I need new forks, this will do?
