Title: pilot jet question - bleed vs non-bleed?
Post by: GS_B on October 27, 2003, 06:15:11 PM
What is the difference between the bleed and non-bleed pilot jets?  When I jetted mine, I got 40 pilots that have 6 holes in the side.  The bike runs great, but I was just responding to this (http://www.gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5319) post looking for 40 pilots when I noticed the stock pilots that came out of mine didn't have the holes.  Which one is which and what's the difference?

Thx!

ahh, sorry for the redundant post. found this thread (http://www.gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3252&highlight=bleed+jet) after trying some different keywords

so apparently, it doesn't make a difference, that or I just got lucky on the setup, cuz mine ran just fine w/ bleed type 40's immediatly upon starting back up, and continues to run great a year & 1/2 later with no further adjusting

My 91 has 37.5 bleeds in it, and seems to behave just like 40 non bleeds. I also thought the non bleeds and bleeds are equal... but maybe not... But then again the 91 behaved great with the stock 37.5's as well.
Cool.

I could not get two different bikes to run with carbs that had the "Bleed" type.  As soon as I put the stockers back in, the bikes ran fine.  I got "Non-Bleed" type in the 40 and both bikes ran fine.

Go figure???
