This is my wifes first bike. I bought it with her in March. She's done the MSF class and got her endorsement. I've upgraded to Progressive springs and 15w fork oil with new seals. I've also put a National Cycle F-16 wind/fly screen on to help with interstate rides. Just changed the brake pads to EBC as I had spilled a little fork oil on the old ones (they were worn down anyways.) Lastly, I put on a new set of Bridgestone BT-45's which my wife really enjoys. I ride a 2007 Triumph Daytona 675 which I really enjoy, but for riding around town, sometimes I prefer to jump on the GS500 as it's really fun and comfortable. I just wanted to say 'hi' and thank everyone here for all of the info. I couldn't have done any of the mods without this great forum as a resource. This is the first bike I've every done my own work on and it has inspired me to mod my Daytona as well.
* I forgot to mention that when we purchased it from the lady that previously owned it, they had already put the V&H exhaust on it, which sounds so lovely! :thumb:

Nice bike, welcome to the forum! My wife is planning on taking the MSF soon too, and she wants me to give her my GS and me get another bike, lol.
 The great thing about that, it that you have 2 motorcycles to play with then! Not to mention, you don't have to ride two up if you don't want to :thumb:
Nice bike -- what mileage does it have? Why did the PO sell -- it barely looks ridden?
I'm partial to the 01-02 models, probably cause I have one.
The bike looks super clean, lots of nice upgrades too. Good stuff man, and goodluck.
It had 8k miles when we bought it. Paid $2100 for it. The PO was a woman who rode with her husband (who rode a Busa). She didn't ride it that often and they needed money to fix up their house. They sold both of their bikes. It did have one other owner before her though. My wife likes it alot and it is fairly clean. The V&H pipe is pretty rusty (only rust on the bike), I need to do the sandblasting, high temp paint thing to it.
That's my favorite paint scheme on the GS. Looks great!
Great looking bike, any of the exhaust?

Nice can, suites the bike too! You are just showing off :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen:
After you've had the GS a while and get to ride it a bit you should write up a good comparison for this thread... http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=52805.0 I started it with a Triumph so we should get some more in there. I still need to get around to putting in my current bike. See what you can come up with aside from the general "this bike is lighter and faster", I know a lot of people on here are interested in the 675s and would love to hear what you think. That thread kinda got junked up with people just telling us what kinda bikes they want, haha.

My wife seen some of the comments. Now she wants to come and participate on the board. Nice going guys
Look for her to be posting soon. I'll definitely do a review between the GS and Daytona but it's like comparing apples and oranges. I will be objective as possible and will edit the review as time goes on. It'll be a while however, before my wife rides the Daytona.
Good looking Daytona!I bought a 675 as a builder and rode it for a couple of months before I sold it. Awesome bike for it's size, but I am quite partial to Triumph's. My ride is an 04 955i Daytona, but I have owned several Daytona's, Speed Triples, a Sprint 1050, and the big bad Rocket 3. I am not a cruiser guy, but there is nothing that compares to the pull of the last machine mentioned. ;)
I had a brand new 2004 Daytona 955i SE with the black frame. I was hit and the bike was totaled. I've only owned 5 bikes (not including my wifes). Of them all, the 955i was my favorite.
I am a big Triumph fan, the latest 2011 Sprint ST is my favourite O0 O0
The only thing out of Britain at the moment, although we still have lotus :thumb:
