Hey all,
I've been lurking on your forum since mid-June, and figured it's been long enough and that I should probably sign up. I was given a 2004 GS500F with 5429 miles on it by my friend on the condition that I got it fixed. It was her first bike and she has had it since she was 16, but side from some fairing damage, the bike is essentially new. I picked it up on the 29th of June, and I've been working on it on and off since I got it. Hoping to have it ready to ride by August, after which I'll take the MSF course and get my endorsement. I am fairly new to bikes, this one being my first street bike (the other was an '83 Yamaha DT100K Enduro). I look forward to picking your minds as I start my adventure into street riding.
NW Washington State or DC?
NW Washington state. I call Oak Harbor my hometown, but I live/attend school in Bellingham, at Western Washington University.
GSTwins is great for GS500 info and chat, but if you want to meet people from the PNW, it's pretty uncommon.
Check out PNWRiders.com (http://pnwriders.com) but watch out for hooligans. :icon_lol:
I'm here to learn more about the GS500, not so much to meet folks. This just seemed like the most appropriate sub-forum to introduce myself.
OIC. I think this thread is good too: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=4200.0
hey guys
i grew up in Bellevue and actually ended up in Boulder, CO for school due to scholarships and what not.
Bought a GS500e here but am planning on either riding out next summer or shipping the bike out, so if you guys want to ride next summer, I'm more than willing to hit up snoqualmie or head east over the cascades etc.
btw i have a lot of friends up at western (everyone from my high school either ended up at WSU, UW, or Western, and then the few like me went out of state)
