I just bought this bike a few days ago, its had 2 previous owners. I had planned on mounting an extra LED light on the bottom of the fender, so I went out there today to take a look at it and realized the fender has been cut off! I guess kids these days think its cool to not have a fender ;)
Has anyone tried to add a fender back on? Looking at the replacement part on ebay, its *huge* and looks like it would be a lot of work to replace.
Maybe someone has a piece from a fender they've chopped that they would sell me? I could probably figure out a way to tack it back on.
Thanks.
its only a few bolts to replace it, could easily be done in an hour with minimal tools
Yep, if you want the full thing back I'd just try to find another one and replace it. I bought one on ebay for $4-5 a while back. It's super easy to replace too. If the LED strip is your only reason for wanting it you could just mount it on the bottom of your license place, whether you make a plate bracket longer than the plate for the light, or just stick it right at the bottom edge of the plate.
Yeah, kids these days...
Wait - were you asking for help?
I have advice to 'zirconx': if you need help from this forum's members, don't call people who cut off fenders kids - they are a majority here.
no hard feelings, just advice

Yep, they look like arse......(IMHO)
I'm a big fan of chopped off fenders. They have no place on my bikes!
Even my Buell got a fender chop, and my taillight only goes half way over the back wheel. I'm very curious to see how that feels on the back of my neck the first time I ride through a good puddle.
I agree it would be easy to replace if you found a new one....it is quite huge though and probably why many remove it. It's all about whatever you think looks better....good luck. (Mine's off too BTW) :woohoo:
if you had the peice that was cut off i would say just plastic weld it back on. good luck :-)
Fenderectomy FTW :thumb:
