Title: Removing gearchange lefel
Post by: rock_rebel on August 06, 2010, 10:28:04 AM
My gearchange level is too high to properly change gears. I want to adjust it, but I don't have the correct nut size. What is the size I need?

10mm, a potential problem i ran into is the range of movement. the shifter moves 1 tooth at a time and each tooth is a huge change, I thought it was too high and adjusted it down 1 tooth. well that one tooth took the shifter way too far down so I ended up bending the lever a bit and its now perfect.

You need a 10mm spanner assuming the bolt is standard. Loosening it isnt enough, its a pinch-bolt so it needs to be completely removed before the lever will slide off the spline.

A tip is to mark the shaft end end relative to the lever by making a dot on each with a centerpunch before you take the lever off. Do this and you will always have a reference point to go back to
