Title: Cost to ship a bike?
Post by: MattyC on October 28, 2003, 06:44:04 PM
I'm in the market for a GS500. I've noticed some nice bikes for sale in other states (I'm in Houston, TX). Does anyone know about how much it costs to ship a bike? I'm wondering if it even makes sense to ship a $1500-2500 bike or whether I should just to sit tight until I find one closer. I'm sure you can all relate to that feeling of wanting to get a bike N-O-W

Thanks for the help

find one closer or meet them half way. I priced shiping a bike coast to coast (NY to CA) and it was about $750.

Try Forward Air www.forwardair.com  Should be around $400 for cross country shipping, less with less distance.

Wow,  $750? It seems that Forward Air has continued to jack up their rates in this craze of eBay motorcycle sales.  I shipped my Honda CBR 600F from Baltimore to LAX in August 2001 and payed around $250.  I did have to crate it myself, but that wasn't too hard.

Yeah, I know remember that they quoted me $300-$400 to ship from San Jose to Santa Monica!
