Title: Oil cooler brackets
Post by: rock_rebel on August 16, 2010, 04:20:38 PM
Is it safe to remove these? I removed all the fairing brackets from the GS, and realized these could be removed too. I've ridden the bike a couple times afterwards and didn't have any trouble with the cooler moving. Should I put them back in case something bad happens?

zipties are your friends =P

i've only personally looked at oil lines once but from what i can tell, leave the brackets for the actual cooler (of course) but the rest should be able to handle themselves just fine. if you dont want the lines waving all willy-nilly than again: zipties are your friends

I've got my oil lines ziptied at the moment, but am thinking that I'll just chop off the part of the bracket that serves as a fairing mount for a cleaner look.

That's what I did...I just cut the bracket and saved the piece in case I wanted to put the fairing back on. Looks great and no worries.

I'm just going to put black tie wraps around the lines. Still gives it a clean look.

Oh. Black ties would help; my cable ties are off white.
