So when the rain comes out what do you guys wear?
Right now I put on the rain liner to my GxAir jacket and found a pair of rain pants from Stearns that breathe really well. Here's a couple of Pics of the pants got them at Big Lots for $5.

This is the best match I've been able to come up with but I still haven't found a pair of reasonably priced waterproof gloves that aren't too hot for the steam fest of Florida summers.

I wear Frogg Toggs Road Toads rain gear. Lightweight, breathable and keeps the rain out pretty well. I haven't bothered with a water proof glove as I just deal with the wet hands and let the gloves dry out when I reach my destination.
I used to wear my high vis fluro work rain gear over my hornee jeans and leather jacket. My DRider gloves (unless its pissing) don't seem to absorb the wet and the water repellent I sprayed into them (only my winter gloves) works really well.
I've since switched to Motodry Pants that are water proof and come with a removing liner for summer/winter riding, plus the usual armor and padding in places. They are great. Still using the high vis rain jacket over my leather jacket though.
I have a rain jacket big enough to fit over a riding jacket. My normal cold weather jacket is supposed to be waterproof, but it's really just mostly resisitant at this point. My arms usually get kinda wet. I also have some rain pants, They're nice and thick but I think any normal pair of cheap rain pants would work fine. The only difference with these is that the ride side has cloth on the inside of the right leg so the plastic doesn't melt from the exhaust midpipe.
The nicest part I've had were some Sidi boots that were waterproof. I hate wet feet and the boots made my life much easier. I could leave rain pants under the seat of my old seat. Ride in my boots and normal jacket, then if it rained all I had to do was pull my pants out. Never messed with gloves though. I've had gloves that were supposed to be waterproof but they were a little too big for me. I'm sure they're nice to have as well. Sometimes I would keep some thin latex gloves to put under my normal gloves. Your hands still feel wet, but it keeps them from getting pruny if you're gonna be out for a while.
I wear my car in the rain :icon_lol: Its water proof and is much safer
The only time I ride in the rain is if the forecast is wrong or I take a chance, so Im stuck in my normal riding gear.
If I can get to my destination without getting wet, even if it is raining but I can see by the radar there is a gap, I'll ride. Normal gear.
If it's raining on the return trip, so be it. I'll get soaked, love it, get home and have a nice warm shower and it's all good. :thumb:
One time the forecast went bad. We came out of our lunch destination and it looked like rain was 100% coming, and shortly. Those I was with starting putting on rain gear. I didn't.
I rode to under a tree to wait for them to finish getting dressed. Once they were dressed I rode into the now pouring rain and up to them all huddled under an awning. "Come on..." I said "It's raining" they replied. I shook my head thinking 'why did you put on rain gear if you won't ride in it' and rode off. Totally soaked and smiling. About 10 minutes up the road it was not raining and buy the time I got home I was mostly dry.

Now that I'm at home and can actually see the attached pictures, those pants look great Mary. What department in Big Lots did you find them in? I think I might go pick up a pair or two. Mine are nice for heavy duty stuff, but yours like nice with the mesh lining plus the pockets. One big annoying part of my rain pants is that I have to reach inside of them just to grab keys or something out of my pocket, the cargo pockets would be super convenient!
Well, here in Florida rain is a daily fact of life from June through September. I don't mind riding in the rain I just don't like my underwear wet. You guys have no idea what it's like riding with a wet bra on! YICK!
TT those pants were in the clothing section. They had a jacket just like it for $10 and I soooo should have picked it up. But, alas by the time I realized what I had on my hands they were gone like hotcakes. I think Wal-Mart sells some similar ones but not quite as good.
I rode in them yesterday for a good hour getting errands done and my jeans were dry! And I didn't sweat my arse off either.

If I go to bike night on Thursday there's a big lots not too far away, it would probably be work stopping over there. If not I'll definitely check it out over the weekend.
Hey if they got the jackets there pick me up one and I'll pay you the $10 plus shipping. X-large to go over the jacket!

Rain? I've read about that on the internets before... That's where water falls from the sky, right? Haven't had chance to be on my bike in any of the three rainstorms we've had this year, but I *am* anxious to see how my rain gear works out (Aerostich Darien set). I'll be sure to post if I get the opportunity to test it!
